River Paws Mercantile Vintage Emporium

Welcome to the River Paws Online Vintage Market!  We are located in scenic and historic Lancaster, VA, home of Mary Ball Washington's Birthplace Homestead. Offering a unique and eclectic array of vintage, and modern items of interest, we have been in operation since 2018, including locations at our historic red barn, still in use, as well as an additional building we formerly owned and operated for several years in nearby Lively, VA. Currently, we are transitioning to primarily online sales.

Owner, Susan Pearce Ditch, has been in the vintage and antique collecting and resale arenas most of her life, where the yard sale bug bit early. Often tagging along many a weekend, with her childhood friend whose mother loved to go antiquing, and, well, we couldn't drive yet, so, we went where mom went, like it or not! Susan soon after refined her own passion for history and everything old, with yard sales of her own in the front yard of her childhood family home in Davidsonville, MD, somewhere round about the early 1980's. Her first formal dealings were in the early 1990's, assisting a prestigious estate sale business owner near Annapolis, MD. 

Professionally, otherwise, Susan holds a master's degree in environmental management, undergraduate degree in Biology, and worked in the environmental field for over two decades, as a Water Quality Specialist and Laboratory Manager. Susan later created and opened a successful high-end Pet Resort business in St. Mary's, MD, which she operated for 15 years, before selling and carving out her niche in Lancaster, VA, where she resides with her husband and daughter in the 1890 farmhouse they restored. Susan also owns and operates a successful Pet Care business in Lancaster.

Local pick-up of purchased merchandise in Lancaster, VA, is free, and by appointment. Shipping is offered throughout the Continental U.S., or other regions by request, for additional fees, as might be possible, and at our discretion. Shipping prices listed are moderate approximate ballpark estimates, give or take, to account for possible shipping on our end as far away as the West Coast, or within our home State of Virginia, depending on any given Buyer's location. Please reach out if you need an exact USPS shipping rate, and give us a couple days' notice, or would like to request combined shipping for multiple items.

Currently, we do not offer consignment sales, due to our extensive current inventory overload.

***Please note, all Sales are Final, and all items are described to the best of our ability and research and includes detailed photos.  Any mistakes in presentation are likely just a goof on our end, and certainly not intentional. Be sure though to read item descriptions and view photos prior to any purchase, especially any jewelry or branded items representations. We also try to be diligent and honest about listing any condition issues, we observe.
